2 Nights Overnight Safari in the Kruger National Park

The Kruger National Park is a vast protected area extending for over 2 million hectares, a spectacular mix of grass and woodland savannas. For this reason, there are a number of access gates through which to gain entry and exit through, once your stay has come to an end.

We are based in Hazyview on the outside of the southeastern boundary of the park. It is of course more convenient for you to be picked up in this area, but we are more than happy to meet you at your preferred place of residence either in the park or at your accommodation on the outside of the park. We can also arrange to meet you at one of the entrance gates.

Additional transfer charges may apply for collection outside the 5km radius of the village of Hazyview.

Further to this we will happily arrange transfers to and from the local airports that service this area for you.

IMPORTANT NOTICE
Remember to bring your South African ID document or, if a foreign traveller, to bring your passport with you.

Day 1, Night 1 - Hazyview to Kruger National Park, Southern Rest Camp

Your professional wildlife guide will collect you at your accommodation from where we continue to the entrance gate of the Kruger National Park. Once we have completed the check-in procedures, we will immediately begin our exciting safari and overnight stay in the iconic Kruger National Park, one of the world’s greatest game viewing destinations.

Upon arrival at a popular rest camp in the heart of the southern Kruger Park, we check in, unpack and freshen up, before we either go out for an afternoon game drive or make our way to the camp restaurant for a wholesome meal. We return to our accommodation to relax before making our way to bed, listening to the sounds of the African night from across the wide savannas. Lower Sabie.

These are optional extras that need to be booked in advance.

Day 2, Night 2 - Southern Rest Camp to Central Rest Camp, Kruger National Park

We wake early for a refreshing cup of coffee and rusks (a traditional oven baked bread roll). We pack our luggage into the tour vehicle and depart, heading out into the sunrise where we may follow up on the animals we heard during the night. These calls often provide clues to what happened during the hours of darkness. The early morning is a good time to find the nocturnal predators, the Lion, Hyena and Leopard as they end their nightly activities to spend their daylight hours resting in the shade. It is at this time that the herbivores are at their most active, feeding in the cool of the early mornings.

We stop en-route for a well-deserved brunch at a rest camp or picnic site along the way before making our way to our overnight accommodation in the central area of this huge wilderness. As we travel North, we explore the habitat and wildlife of the park. This travelling between camps, encapsulates the very essence of the word Safari. “Safari” is a Swahili word from East Africa that simply means to, “Travel” and has become synonymous with game viewing in Africa.

After arriving at our overnight accommodation, we check in and make our way to our chalets to unpack and freshen up and if time allows, we depart to discover new areas while searching for the prolific wildlife.

If it is too late, we make our way to the park restaurants for a welcome meal before making our way to our chalets for a comfortable night’s rest in the heart of Africa.

If, however time allows us, we head out to explore. The area is under pinned by rich dolerite soils that support great quantities of nutritious grass, trees, and shrubs. This vegetation attracts huge herds of plains game in the form of Wildebeest, Zebra, Impala, Buffalo, and Giraffe to name a few. In turn the herbivores attract the whole spectrum of predators. Prides of Lions, Leopard, Cheetah, Wild Dogs and Hyena. Birds in many shapes, sizes and colours are found throughout the park including birds of prey, the raptors, Eagles, Falcons, and Goshawks that hunt the abundant prey here. Many vultures can be seen at times when they arrive to clean up the remains of prey left by the primary predators in the ever-present circle of life that drives an African ecosystem.

We return to the restaurant for our last evening meal, recalling the adventures of your South African safari before we head off to bed, lulled to sleep by the sounds of the night.

Day 3 - Kruger National Park Central Rest Camp to Hazyview

Early wake up for coffee or tea and rusks before again heading out into the African bush at first light so as to catch the predators before they lie up for the day.

We stop at a convenient rest camp or picnic site for a satisfying breakfast or brunch after an exciting morning of game viewing. After the brunch break, we continue with our game drive and slowly make our way out of the park by early evening and back to your preferred place of residence or airport for your onward flight.
