Afternoon Safari
(Code KBHD2)

Kruger Park guided half day afternoon safari

Midday pick up in Hazyview or closest gate to your accommodation. (check times below.)

The afternoon is a good time for finding species such as zebra, giraffes. In the heat of the day elephants make their way to waterholes and rivers with hippos and crocodiles.

Comfort break en route.

As the afternoon cools and the wildlife becomes more active. Predators stretch, yawn and move around before setting out to hunt.

The midday can be hot, bring sunscreen, hats and a light jacket. Bring binoculars and fully charged cameras with new SD cards.

Winter evenings can be cool to cold, bring warm clothing and insect repellant.

Tour times:

January to March: 12:00 to 18:00.

April to September: 11:30 to 17:30.

October to December: 12:00 to 18:00.

What we have planned for you:

Your guide will pick you up at your place of residence in Hazyview and surrounding areas or at the Phabeni, Numbi or Kruger entrance gates in an open safari vehicle and depart for the nearby Kruger National Park.

After checking in and a comfort break, we immediately start our approximately 5-6 hour safari, searching for the incredible diversity of wildlife where we concentrate on the game rich southern areas. The iconic Kruger National Park with the Big 5 as well as a wide diversity of antelope, giraffe, zebra, warthog, numerous reptiles and over 500 species of birds, call these vast woodland savannas their home.

After a short comfort break we continue into the late afternoon

As the afternoon shadows lengthen, the wildlife will feel the need to start feeding and begin to move around after the heat of the day and become more visible. This is a great time to follow up on earlier sightings and catch the predators such as the leopard, wild dog, cheetah, lion and hyena as they begin to prepare for the evening activities.

At the end of the safari, we will drop you back at your accommodation or your transfer to your onward journey.
