The Original BIG 7 Safari - Algoa Bay Marine Tour and Addo Elephant National Park Safari

We pick you up at 7:30 am at your place of residence in Port Elizabeth and depart for the harbour.

The Big 7 safari is a unique experience where we spend the morning on the waters of Algoa Bay searching for the seasonal Humpback and Southern Right Whales that visit this large, protected Bay, Dolphins, Seals and Sharks. A colony of African Penguins can be found on St Croix Island.

Algoa Bay is known as the “Bottlenose Dolphin Capital of the World” as these magnificent, playful mammals occur commonly and are found in large numbers where schools can be made up of 300 individuals or more while Seals and if lucky Sharks can also be spotted on these trips.

After a light lunch in the working harbour, we depart for the malaria free Addo Elephant National Park, a mere 35 minutes’ drive from the harbour to the southern entrance. After check in and a comfort break, we immediately start the guided game viewing experience.

The park is home to close to 700 free-roaming Elephants and we search for many other species including the Big 5, the Cape Buffalo, Black Rhino, Lion and the elusive Leopard, amongst the many species of antelope such as the elegant Kudu, the males with the great spiraled horns, the huge but gentle Eland, Red Hartebeest, Zebra and Warthog and many more. Many colourful species of birds will entertain as well as tortoises and other reptiles.

Making our way through the park from south to north we continue searching the thickets and open plains in this renowned National Park before once again heading south, game viewing all along the way.  We then return to Port Elizabeth after a satisfying and exciting full day in this African wilderness.
