Personalized Kruger Safari Experience

For our honeymoon my wife and I booked a 5 day excursion to Kruger National Park with Alan Tours. We wanted to have a personalized safari experience so we felt that booking with a smaller tour company would allow us to be able to customize our itinerary as well as have greater flexibility during our trip. Overall we had a great time and were very happy with the experience Alan and his team provided.

Throughout the planning process, Alan and Angelika were on top of communication and kept us up-to date with details of our trip and the latest news regarding the Omicron surge in South Africa. When we had originally booked our safari, our accommodations were outside of Kruger park due to availability, but Alan kept an eye out on for any openings inside of the park and was able to grab a last minute booking at the Skukuza camp inside the park!

Throughout the tour Alan was very professional and worked very hard to make sure we did not miss a single thing. He was very flexible with our day-to -itinerary and made sure we were enjoying ourselves and planned adequate breaks for snacks and meals. He is a very knowledgeable guide with years and years of experience in the park. He taught us everything from animal behavior to the history of South Africa and also gave us a lot of helpful recommendations for places to visit in South Africa after our safari.

A safari in Kruger is a truly unique experience and you definitely want to spend as many days as you can exploring the park. Every day offered a different experience and a chance to catch a glimpse (or an unexpected up-close encounter) with some of the rarer animals. The summer months bring on the rainy season in Kruger and it was really interesting to see changes in weather bring out different animal behaviors. We were extremely lucky and managed to see everything we set out to see and more! We left with a greater appreciation for nature and those who work so hard to protect it.
